PonyTube: How To Suggestions
Please identify yourself at the beginning of the video as if arriving for a turnout at rally. Please use your first name only, your rating, and your region.
Ex: 'I am Shirley, and I am a C2 from 'My' Region'
Please send Region info with your submitted video as we would like to identify your region when posting on the USPC Pony Tube page.
Attire can be any form of correct barn attire. (Shirt with sleeves, khakis or riding breeches, correct footwear if working around horses or in the barn.) Think Rally and you've got it nailed.
It may help you to practice in front of a mirror or a friendly audience to get your presentation smooth before filming. Remember to smile!
If you are talking about grooming, break it down.
There is no limit to the number of videos you can submit. If you want to do a grooming series -- Cool!
Sample Script for PonyTube Video: (just like your unmounted lesson plans!)
Introduce yourself and the purpose of your lesson: (I am Jane, a C2 Pony Clubber from 'My' Region. Today I will show you how to use a soft brush to finish grooming your pony, giving his coat a nice shine.)
List the tools needed to do the task you are demonstrating
Briefly demonstrate the task.
At the end of the video please say: 'This has been 'topic' and I am 'my name'. Thank you.'
Please note that the videos for PonyTube (Beta Test page) will reside on Blip.tv. These videos will be available to the general public via that widely used site as well as available via the PonyTube page on the USPC website.
Preference will be given to videos that are clear and demonstrate safe, workmanlike instruction. Preference is also given to video demonstrations by members rather than adults.
When filming, the video quality is best with good lighting and a plain background. Because of the conversion to the format on Blip.tv, 'busy' backgrounds make the resulting video fuzzier -- thus less helpful for teaching purposes.
Please format your submission in either Flash or Windows Media Player format. Videos should be five minutes or less in length.
